We at Mega Air Conditioning, Heating, & Electrical Co. would like you to know that our service division has adopted a new method of pricing service work. This nationally recognized system was developed to make sure that you, our customer, could feel in control of a service call from beginning to end.

For many years, our industry has used the “Time and Material” method of pricing service work. When you called for repair service, we would inform you what the basic charge for coming to your house would be. Then we would charge you a labor fee plus required materials. The problem with this method of pricing is that some customers are in the unfortunate position of paying more for a given service task due in part to the technician’s experience level. The more experienced the technician, the less time it takes to correctly diagnose and repair problems. The less experienced, the more time it takes to correctly diagnose and repair problems. Thus, training was on “your” time.

Now we have a new choice:. This nationally recognized service-pricing system has accumulated data on the proper time and materials needed to complete tens of thousands of service repair tasks.

The good news is that this allows us to give you a firm price for the diagnosis of your system, which we call our “diagnostic charge.” Once we are certain of the immediate problem, we will give you a firm up-front price to repair it.

Ultimately, this will eliminate any surprises you could encounter when you receive the final bill. After all, it is just as discouraging for us as it is for you when the final repair bill exceeds the quoted amount by the technician.
